Introduction

CT has continued to play an ever increasing role in evaluation of small bowel disease whether it be inflammatory or neoplastic. The ability of the newest multidector CT scanning to provide narrow collimation and fast data acquisition has improved accuracy in a range of applications in the small bowel ranging from evaluation of suspected ischemia to detection of tumors such as carcinoid tumor. In this section, we provide a comprehensive review of the current state of the art of CT in evaluation of the small bowel. We discuss the technique of the examination and illustrate the wide range of pathology seen in the small bowel with hundreds of case studies and examples. The program also provides a series of lectures which we hope you will find helpful. Upon completion of this module the user will have a better understanding of the current role of CT in the evaluation of small bowel pathology.
