Introduction:

CT provides a comprehensive evaluation of the patient with inflammatory and/or neoplastic disease of the colon. CT allows detection of disease, definition of extent of disease, as well as playing a major role in patient triage. Newer developments in CT including multidetector row CT (MDCT) and applications like CT angiography and virtual colonoscopy provide new capabilities for imaging the colon.
