Comment:

  • Narrow collimation is critical to look for partial portal vein thrombosis. The scan should also allow one to define the cause of the portal vein thrombosis such as pancreatic cancer, pancreatitis or hepatoma.
  • 3D imaging is especially of value in these cases.
