Scanner Used

Siemens Somatom Plus 4

Injection Rate

3cc/sec

Contrast Volume and Type

150cc of Omnipaque 350

Area Scanned

From level of celiac axis to below common iliac aa

Scan Delay (2 delays if dual spiral)

30sec/60sec

Length of Spiral (time)

35-40sec

Slice Thickness

3mm

Table Speed/Pitch

5-6mm/sec or pitch up to 2

Reconstruction Interval

1mm for arterial phase 2mm for venous phase

3D Technique Used

Volume rendering with MIP in select instances as a complement

Comment: The technique is a dual-phase study with the arterial phase for arterial mapping and the venous phase for the renal vein and its variants. A delayed topogram (scoutview) is obtained to evaluate the pelvocalyceal system.
